Day 89: Auditing Silverback's Export UI
I started off Day 89 by performing an audit of Silverback's export UI to understand where the usability issues may be occurring.
Hi, I'm John Ellison. This is a 90-day blog project that chronicles some of my work experience at Clearleft as a UX Designer.
I started off Day 89 by performing an audit of Silverback's export UI to understand where the usability issues may be occurring.
On Day 82 (Saturday), I took a fast from my device usage and decided to hang out and read "The Personal MBA" by Joshua Kaufman. It's a fantastic book. I cruised through 132 pages and felt like this was exactly what I needed to read at this stage in my journey.
It provides readers with a foundational understanding of the core mental models, principles and concepts necessary to run a successful business. With that foundation, it allows users to go out and practice what they've understood in the field and seek other resources for specific information.
On Day 81 the Clearleft Interns gave the team a playback on the current state of their project. They've got some really exciting concepts moving forward into prototype and production. I can't wait to see what happens next.
On Day 80, I kicked off my day with a great session between James Box, Andy T, and Andy P regarding the outputs for the training project. Andy P is running with getting all the workshops for each team written and listed on the Clearleft website while Andy T is condensing the Training, Mentoring and Coaching proposition in the form of a slide deck.

On Day 74 I had the pleasure of being walked through the most recent brand developments by James Bates. It has been great to watch the process unfold. I am working on an article for the Clearleft Blog that outlines the process of the work that James, Jon and Ben have done.
We had the pleasure of meeting on Day 73 to talk about the next steps for the training project. Andy Budd had some really useful insights and provided great focus for us moving forward. I am really looking forward to see how this unfolds.

Charlotte and Jeremy gave a wonderful brown bag presentation on all the awesome things you can do in browsers nowadays. Check out Charlotte's awesome post on the subject: http:/
I really enjoyed watching James Bates walk us through the process of last week's Brand Refresh work. Kudos to James Box, Jon Aizlewood and Ben White for all their hard work. I think they've entered into some really interesting brand territory and I can't wait to see how it develops.
After a few weeks traveling around the US, Jeremy came back to the office and promptly showed off his Slack socks. I think we were all a little bit envious.
A 6-course small-plate meal here on Saturday night was one of the best meals I've ever had in my life. Silo is a zero-waste post-industrial restaurant with a great atmosphere and really cool staff. I couldn't recommend it any more.
At the end of Day 57 James Bates gave a playback of the first week of the Clearleft Brand Refresh project. In the first week, we mostly covered planning and project setup because James was pulled into client work for most of the week, but we had made some assumptions about the project that we wanted to test with the project stakeholders and the steering group.

I didn't really know what to expect for Clearleft's 10th Anniversary Party on the eve of my 41st day at Clearleft.
All I have to say is Clearleft can definitely design, run conferences and man can they throw a good party...
On Day 39 I decided to spend another day with my family, but I needed finish up the workshop preparation from home so I did my best to get some work done at the same time.
